This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Jersey City is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Jersey City peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We came here because of the amazing reviews and it lived up to the hype! This was our first time having Filipino food and it was delicious! Everyone was super nice to us, the food came out fast and fresh, and everything was super delicious. We ended up with a ton of leftovers, too, and for 2 to have an appetizer, 2 meals, and dessert, it was <$60! My husband insisted I also mention that the water was fantastic, which I agree with haha. The only thing we thought could be different was that the live music, though awesome, was just a tad loud. But overall it was an awesome experience, canβt wait to come back and bring friends.

We drive from Brooklyn to Jersey City for Filipino food. Our usual place happened to be closed and Island Central came up on Google. Let's just say we have a new usual place we'll be going to from now on. Their chicken wings were the best I've ever had. Crispy and delicious on the outside tender and moist on the inside. I had ordered this particular dish for myself but everyone on the table ended up taking a few pieces. Sizzling pork sig sig also probably the best I've ever had and I've eaten all over the world and all over New York City. Their Halo Halo was another hit, it had vanilla ice cream, which made it a little bit different but it was an improvement and highly recommended and greatly enjoyed by all my Filipino friends. But the food isn't the only great thing about this restaurant. It's the Superior service, always with a smile and on the Sunday that I was there there was live music. The vibe at this place even between other customers was just super friendly too. Can't wait to go back.

My family and I had a great experience at Island Central. Loved the flavorful dishes, service, and glad they had a high chair (and patience) for a small child. The Honey Soy Garlic Chicken was the favorite at the table but everything was delicious.

I had such a wonderful experience with Island Central. I was looking for a Filipino caterer that can serve buffet style for my multi-cultural wedding in Brooklyn. After trying out multiple restaurants in NYC/NJ area, we finally knew we found the right restaurant after eating here. Not only is their food genuinely amazing and reminiscent of what I grew up eating, but their staff is equally amazing and kind. We were blown away by their decor for our cocktail hour and reception buffet tables- they truly went above and beyond. We had a Filipino/Chinese wedding and guests from both sides LOVED their food. I had many family members asking for their contact info for their next party. Sheryll and the team were also so kind as to pack baon for my family during the wedding. I was genuinely so proud of how Sheryll and the team at Island Central represented and celebrated our Filipino culture for my Chinese/Filipino wedding. Everything from the taste, aesthetic, and hospitality was so spot on with Filipino culture. Island central truly has a customer for life in my wife and I. Their head chef knocked the menu out of the park and was so open to our feedback during our taste testing. Finding f
